Queen of Anti-Social

"I love solid backgrounds the most when it comes to shooting people.  But that could easily change. "

Individual Tumblrs usually aren't worth mentioning as they're usually full of reblogged, unoriginal content.  Queen of Anti-Social's Tumblr is different, though. It's run by a make-up artist with a penchant for analog photography, tattoos and behind-the-scenes shots.  All the photographs included belong to her and have this authentic, anti-fashion feel which is completely alluring and refreshing, especially paired with her down-to-earth blurbs that can be found beneath each one.

G'Old Korea Vinyl

G'Old Vinyl Korea is a website playlist curated by Gopchang Jeongol, a basement bar in Hongdae, Seoul that plays vintage Korean tunes from the 50's onwards.  They recently held an after-party for a Toro Y Moi gig (which I went to!) and pictures taken on the night by my photographer friend Wonny Bunny have been published on The Smirnoff Nightlife Exchange Project.

There's one shitty picture of me covering my eyes and looking like a dweeb if you want to search through the rest of the photos on Facebook.

MiniMix

Finding myself unusually and luxuriously home alone on a Friday night.  I'm meant to be at a leaving party right now (this isn't as big a deal as it sounds; people are constantly leaving Korea) but I couldn't face the trek into Hongdae in the minus degree temperature.

In the midst of curling up like a cat to read a trashy novel, downloading cult classic films (Blue Velvet) and eating copious amounts of cereal, I found this MiniMix by DJ Suit on the blog Daughter of Soho Riots.

It's making me nostalgic for club nights in Cardiff and dancing like this:

Maaaaan, I wish I was still a student.

Rectangles

Some of my 'mazingly talented friends at AWEH made this wicked video on an iphone while they were travelling around Vietnam last month.  Check it out - seriously - the effects are phenomenal, especially since it was made with such limited equipment.

They recently gave me a sneak peek of some other mini-documentaries they have in the making and they're definitely videos you're going to want to see.

Add them on Facebook and follow them on Twitter too so you can keep updated.

Tokyo

Tokyo was sick.  It's such a rad place, if far too expensive for my Korean budget.  It was worth it though as it's definitely the coolest looking city I've ever been to.  I walked around the city with my jaw open in awe at how functionally well-designed and aesthetically gorgeous everything was, with just the right amount of odd kitsch interjected.

Nicki Minaj

All you need in a role model is for them to have pink hair.

P.S, there's Korean words flashing out at me this video.

P.P.S, Jamie Lee Curtis reckons she's just Jay Z slowed down, which if you squint your ears he's sort of right.

NYFW in Instagram

Here are all my favourite New York Fashion Week pictures from Instagram, Twitter and Flipboard.

I love how the internet lets you live vicariously through other people.  While I sit in my pyjamas underwear here in Seoul, eating strawberries and cereal chocolate for breakfast, I get to peruse pictures of what's happening in a more glamorous - albeit highly stressful - world.

From top: Derek Lam's library-themed invitations by @lapresmidi, an OTT blonde bouffant by @luckymagazine, DKNY leather by @cocorocha, graphic goodness at Ohne Titel by @chrissiefuller, butterfly prints at Preen by @elanabrooke24, an Oscar-worthy Packham dress by @eholmeswsj, aquamarine splashes at Giulietta by @meiklie, Betsey Johnson making backstage posters @xoxobetseyjohnson.
